How to Write a Sexy Rejection Letter

The Power Hath Been Handed Over

Kat V
There it is: the envelope with the company emblem, the carefully folded paper with the Watermark seal, the date, the address of the recipient.

But, the best part? The tables have turned!

To whom it may concern,

Thank you for taking the time to read my application and look over my resume at my experience and qualifications. I appreciate your interest in my portfolio and that your company offers the kind of work I'm looking for.

After a careful review of your company's longevity and reputation in the field, I regret to inform you that I have decided not to pursue employment with your company. This decision is based on a number of factors stemming from the needs of good healthcare benefits and vacation time.

Pleased be assured that this decision was made after a thorough review of other prospective employers I have spoken with, and does not undermine your company's longterm success or its talented supervisors such as yourself.

I wll, however, keep your company in my file on the off-chance that a better match should come about in the future.

Sincerely,

Kathryn V.

Yeah, it's supposed to be "polite" like the letters I get from employers, but maybe I came off more nice than anything else. lol so much for me poking fun at those "professionally polite" rejection letters.

You were actually kind to them. Polite, but kind. (:

On the other hand, you wouldn't really want to find yourself in the employ of a company whose managers would be sending out such letters, would you? I take them as a notice that it is a place I wouldn't want to go near again. They are wearing their reality on their letterhead. David
