Don't Crumble when You Lose Some of the Drive to Write. Take a Moment to Rest, Collect Your Mind and Seize the Day Once Again

We are humans and when we are stuck with ideas, it is just so natural. But how can we regain back that writing spirit back? Have you ever wondered that at times when you have the writing flow of energy, you feel very securely tight-fist with ideas and if you can get that keyboard to write as you say, you'll do it. Here are a few methods on how you can gain some of that writing spirit, if not all.

Do get some rest. This is the number one important factor. Very important because if you don't rest, you won't get anything done. That's because your level of concentration will be so low that you will totally lost focus. After getting some desired rest, look for ways to increase your level of creativity. This can be done in a lot of ways, really. Read a good book, engage in some conversations with your friends and totally don't care that you have tons of writing assignments to complete. You need to get that drive back, remember? Get inspired. Go for a short drive or eat at a fancy restaurant with any cool bunch of people or you could do some alone soul-searching. Don't be surprised when you eat alone, you might get some writing ideas.

Observation is also another good thing to get that writing flow back. The list can be people walking around, buildings, colors around you and basically just about anything that you could get your sights and sounds on. If you think that in order to get that creativity back, you can just observe, you are right. Try different methods. Another good one is to bring your journal or notebook around. Jot down phrases, small details that you see or suddenly have an inkling to write around. For instance, you check out a fruit stall and you look at the colors of oranges and suddenly you feel like wanting to write about digestion and what oranges can be of help. Just take your notebook and jot down oranges. You will remember it, and will not forget about what you are going to write at all.

Stop worrying. As far as I know, when one is so worried, they will tend to forget lots of things and will not be focused in their thoughts. The writing spirit needs a relaxed mind, a sharp focus and at the same time, flowing and creative ideas. If you try your best, normally it won't take that long for you to get back that writing spirit. Give yourself a break and don't push yourself too hard. You will be amazed at the results that you will churn out hence on.

Good article, BP! One of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Berg, wrote a book on creative writing called "Escaping into the Open" and mentioned how inspired she gets by cooking, baking and eating!

Faith - I've been meaning to pull out my box of index cards (where did I put it?)

Great tips - I've gone to carrying index cards, jot down quick notes then organize when I get home: box is seperated - ideas, rough draft, published
