Think about your past resolution. Evaluate them and why they failed. This can be done by asking yourself these questions:
Did you have too many resolutions?
Were your resolutions realistic?
Was your time line efficient?
Were you passionate about whatever you were trying to achieve?
Was your resolution important to you?
Did you have a plan of action?
By answering these questions, you'll have a better idea of your past resolutions and can implement changes before creating your new ones.
Make sure your resolution are attainable and important to you. If your resolution isn't important to you, then you'll do everything you can to avoid making it happen. Being successful at your resolution means that it has to come very high on your priority list. If it does then that means you're excited about it and will do everything in your power to make your dream a reality.
Have a realistic plan of action. You can't just have a resolution, you must have a realistic plan on how you will implement your resolution. Think about your resolution and then write it down. Make sure that your plan is clear and easy to follow. For instance don't just say, I will lose 20 pounds in a year. Instead be specific and say, "I will lose 20 pounds in a year by cutting my calories by 500 a day, exercising 3 times a week, and eating more healthy foods." As you can see in this sample, you were specific.
Give yourself a timeline. Make sure you give yourself enough time to accomplish your goals. Some people fail because they don't give themselves enough time to accomplish their goals. Be realistic about your goals.
In conclusion, you can make your resolutions come true. You simply have to follow these tips and they will happen. Good luck.
