How to Use Youtube to Stop Panic Attacks

It Works for Me!

If you are trying to find a way to stop panic attacks, you should try using Youtube. If you have a cell phone with Internet access you can help distract yourself with Youtube videos that are programmed into your favorites. I have been using this technique for awhile now, and I've found it very effective.

You have probably read about the findings regarding the use of Tetris the video game in treating victims of post traumatic stress disorder. It was shown to prevent flashbacks. You can read about that here on the New Scientist.

You can utilize videos to focus when you expect a panic attack, and it helps you prevent or reduce an attack. If you find a certain comedian to be hysterical, mark it so that you can access it quickly on your phone. It doesn't matter if you have seen it before, and it almost seems to help because you are following the dialogue more closely that way. Using a very familiar Youtube clip actually helps me to focus my mind even more.

If you have earphones for your phone, this is very helpful because you can utilize the distraction technique at any time. Some people may have the same distraction with music, but it seems to be that the repeated dialogue in a comedy routine is quite therapeutic in my attempts to stop panic attacks.

Good Luck!
