How-To Get Brand New Items at a Discount

Antoinette McGowan
Everyone wonders how they can have nice things while on a strict budget. Paying full price for things is not always an option in today's economy. In addition while coupons help there is not always a coupon for some of the nicer products. While buying used can save you a lot of money; sometimes it is nice to buy brand new. The following are ways to buy some items brand new without paying brand new prices.

Buy Off Season:

Buying certain items off season can actually save you a lot of money. Winter clothing that stores have is usually placed on sale around spring and fall for summer clothing. I personally purchased a $40 winter shirt that was brand new at Sears for $3. I also had discovered a blazer and pants suit set for $40 on sale for only $10. I just purchase them and place them in a tote and store in the closet until I need them.

Outdoor grills can be purchased in the winter time for a discounted savings. So while you may not be thinking of a backyard BBQ in the winter, it is budget friendly to do your purchasing in advance. The same thing applies to bicycles as well. Some stores will place their bicycle inventory on sale during the winter.

Truck Load Sales/Overstock Sales:

Watch your local paper for truck load sales. These sales can actually save you a lot of money off the items they just got in. Some towns actually have resale shops that take part in truck load sales. When this happens even the resale shop is offering discounted brand new items. Take the time to look around and see if your town has a resale shop that does truck load sales.

Ebay:

Ebay is another way to get discounted brand new items such as clothing, toys, electronics and much more. Just make sure to read the description thoroughly and check the seller's reviews. This way you can see what others are saying about the items they have gotten from this seller. When I do get things from Ebay I only bid or do a buy it now from sellers who have at least 15 positive reviews. If I see a lot of negative reviews on a seller I will not purchase from them. I apply this to any auction site that I am looking to bid and purchase items on.
