How-To Decorate a Classic Children Themed Christmas Tree

Decorating the Christmas tree is a fun part of the Christmas obligations that we all have. In fact many families choose to have several trees to decorate for Christmas, each with a different style, color or theme. The lucky minority has the responsibility of decorating the company office or lobby tree, the church tree and the Christmas tree at volunteer centers. All of these locations are ideal for a classic children themed tree.

Since the style can be emotional, fun, historic, etc, you are in complete control of how the tree will look. All it takes is a little focus, imagination and initiative. The overall cost also remains up to you since you choose whether to invest in Hallmark, Wal-mart or Family Dollar merchandise.

The tree ornaments is probably the first items to decide on. One choice is the ornaments sold in stores with small depictions of art imprinted. This is literally a good way to present the story line by showing the smaller acts. For example, a couple scenes of children asleep in bed dreaming of candy and presents along with various other scenes of children opening presents or sitting on Santa's lap gives the spectator an idea of children as the center of Christmas.

Don't be afraid of going in a different direction with old-fashioned bubble lights or light bulb covers, depending on how classic of a tree desired.

A tree skirt wonderfully completes the vision by disguising a fake tree and/or hiding the unsightly tree stand. A plain skirt does nicely with fake presents or animated toys under the Christmas tree. However, there are inexpensive, brilliantly designed tree skirts for sale at quality stores like Wal-mart that feature almost any scene or motif.

A classic star or angel tree topper can be used, but why not try something a little different? A stuffed animal or gathering of candy canes and gumdrops attached by some string or hooks is both imaginative and a way to personalize the tree.
