Wouldn't your girls love to have Santa and Mrs. Claus suits for their Barbie dolls for Christmas? They are real easy to make, just sew these together and you'll quickly have unique and special Christmas doll costumes to give your child.

Its especially simple if you already have doll patterns. Just use what you already own. For Santa, make sure you have a long sleeved jacket, pants, hat and a belt. For Mrs. Claus you will simply need a long dress to work with.

Buy material for your outfits. Red polyester, fleece and velvet work wonderfully for this project. For the trim, get some fur or fleece in white. Black vinyl can be used for the belt for Santa, with a small square of yellow or gold vinyl for the middle, for the belt buckle. The best part is that the same material can then be used for the dress for Mrs. Claus. you won't need much, so its easy to buy the fancier stuff to make the dolls look really special.

Use white fleece to cut out a beard for Santa, and attach it to the hat by sewing it on. You can double layer it so it looks more realistic. Make sure it fits well on the dolls head before you sew it completely on. For Santa's black boots, use black polyester and white fleece trim. You can trim the boots in two or one places, either at just the top, or the top and along the ankle line. Get Mrs. Claus's outfit together by adding some white fleece to both the sleeves and to the edge of the hemline. To make the dress prettier, add some gold trim around the neckline of the dress. Adding about 4 and a half inches of 1/4 inch elastic on the outer edge of a hat design will help keep it on her head. Find some red shoes to put on your Mrs. Claus, or even make black boots outlined the same way as Santa's with the white fur.

As a finale, make a drawstring sack for all of Santa's toys! You can decorate it with just about anything, bells, lace, bows, whatever you want to make a pretty seen. Stuff it with a bit of scraps or stuffing so it looks full.

Viola! You have made a unique and special outfits for a fraction of the cost in the store, and they can be put on most Barbie and Ken dolls.
