How-To Personalize Old Navy Flip-Flops

Personalize Your Old Navy Flip-Flops

Megan Ally
Every girl loves things that are cute and cheap (but of course don't look cheap). Personalizing your Old Navy flip-flops is an excellent way to wear something that is both cute and cheap. Old Navy flip-flops cost $3-5 depending on the style. If you want to add you own special touch to a pair of inexpensive Old Navy flip-flops, I have a few ideas for you to try.

My personal favorite uses strips of fabric tied to the straps of the flip-flops. These decorative flip-flops also make cute crafts that you could do at a young girl's birthday party.

1. To begin, you can either purchase fabric from a craft store or you can rummage through any sewing scraps you might have. You can also cut up old t-shirts. Another option that might be worth trying is to ask a craft store if you can have their scraps of fabric.

2. Cut the fabric into strips about 4 inches in length. You can cut the strips using regular scissors or scissors that have decorative edges.

3. Tie the strips of fabric around the straps of the flip-flops, beginning at the part that goes between your toes and working your way out.

4. You can trim up the strips of fabric if you wish to do so.

A variation on the fabric flip-flops is to use feathers. Beginning with step 3, follow the steps above but instead of tying the feathers you will glue them on the straps. Make sure you use craft glue and not a hot glue gun, because the hot glue will most likely fall off of the straps.

Another fun way to personalize Old Navy flip-flops is to glue rhinestones on the straps.

1. Choose the type and color rhinestones you wish to use. If you use smaller rhinestones it will take you longer to complete the project, but it is a personal choice for which ones you want to use.

2. Glue the rhinestones onto the straps using craft glue.

Another way to decorate your Old Nave flip-flops is by gluing a fake flower on the straps.

1. Buy two fake flowers (one per shoe).

2. Glue the flower onto the shoe right where the two straps meet.

The final idea I have for you on how to personalize your Old Navy flip-flops is to attach seashells to them. This is an excellent way for you to express yourself at the beach.

1. You can buy seashells or collect them on a trip to the beach. You will want to get them relatively small so that they will fit on the straps.

2. Glue them onto the straps in whatever arrangement you would like.

I hate it when people leave rude comments. Didn't your parents tell you if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all?

Those ideas are stupid and creepy. Maybe it would be okay for kids but I wouldn't be caught dead in flops with giant flowers or seashells on them!
