HP Bluetooth Adapter, Review

I purchased the Hewlett Packard Bluetooth Wireless Adapter, because my internet access is very limited where I live and I wanted to be able to network my printer. I don't have any form of internet that allows one to use a wireless router to network the whole house. The only option for that would be expensive satellite internet but, well, that is just expensive. When I found the HP Bluetooth Wireless Adapter at Overstock, for about $24, I figured it was worth a shot to give it a try.

I need the to use my printer with more than one computer and was forced to continuously plug in and remove the printer cord over and over again from my computers, just to print a page or two every once in awhile. That annoyance was not even including the fact that I had to keep my printer in the living room so it could be close to one of my more stationary computers so the cord would reach.

After I got the HP Bluetooth Adapter I put all the software in. It ended up with just complications as I discovered I had to add a new Bluetooth version of my default printer connection. Once I got it working, I was amazed, it worked great!

I use an HP printer and it has a USB port in the front of it and I just plug the HP Bluetooth Adapter right into the USB port. It basically gives the printer Bluetooth so any device you have with Bluetooth can recognize it. You have to have a printer that has a USB port. With the HP Bluetooth adapter you can pick up your printers signal with your phone, camera or any other Bluetooth device too and print straight from them, no computer transferring needed.

My biggest and maybe only complaint is that it has a flashing blue light which always flashes. Not a huge deal but it makes my printer room look like a disco at night. When I first started using the HP adapter it would stop connecting on and off. It drove me nuts and I thought it was the adapter but I later discovered it was a driver in my computer (one I didn't need) that was conflicting with the Bluetooth driver. So I recommend blaming other software first if you are having issue with connection.

I would definitely recommend the HP Bluetooth adapter to anyone who wants to make their printer wireless and Bluetooth capable. It has been a wonderful product for me and is well worth the money in convenience it has given me. Plus, my printer is in another room now, not in my living room, because it is wireless now.
