The HP Company has really been one of the best in the manufacturing of notebook in the global market. They have the technical know-how and the competency to meet most procurers's needs and taste. The Compaq category of notebooks manufactured by the HP Company is also doing well and they are adequately equipped. The introduction of the HP Compaq 8510p notebook has proven that the Company expertise really understood the technicality of building a device. The device is equipped with a 15.4 inch screen that has a resolution of 1680x1050 pixels. This is a welcome development to the global market of notebook, because most 15.4 inch screen are equipped with a 1280x800 pixels but the HP company has decided to upgrade the screen of this device. Other features found in the 8510p are the Mobile Intel PM965, Microsoft Windows XP Professional; hard drive 160GB and many more.

The device design is quite solid and has a sturdy feel. The Compaq 8510p is equipped with a dimension of 1.1 x 14.0 x 10.24 inch 6.1 lbs.

Screen

The 8510p notebook is equipped with a screen of 15.4 inch that has a resolution of 1680x1050 pixels. One would regard this gesture on the part of the HP Company has a welcome development. The screen featured in the device is equipped with good quality that makes it easier for a procurer to read information easily. The horizontal viewing angle and vertical viewing angle are quite above average depending on the taste of the procurer.

The 8510p is equipped with speakers that are situated on the left to right side of the device. The sound quality of the device is quite impressive and handy.

It is no doubt that the performance of a notebook depend mainly on the hard drive, memory and especially the processor it is equipped with. The HP Company has really done a lot of work on the device in order for their procurer to get the best of their notebook. The device is equipped with a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor and a hard drive of 160GB. This quite a plus to the Company expertise but improvement still need to be done. When compared with the Dell Inspiron 1720 one procurer would find out that there is more to be done in the 8510p notebook. The Inspiron 1720 notebook is equipped with a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor that is quite superior to that of the HP Compaq 8510p.

The keyboard featured in the device is very handy and of great benefit to a procurer. A procurer would like typing with the device because it features an easy touch type. A procurer would find the Function and Microsoft windows keys between the left Control and Alt key. It would take some time to master it because it is very possible for a procurer to mistype or miss-press the function key instead of the Control key

The HP Company equipped the Compaq 8510p notebook with a fingerprint reader.

A dedicated button is equipped on the top of the keyboard, which is called the Quick launch button.

The device is equipped with a lot of functional ports that are adequate placed in order to benefit a procurer. The rear of the device is equipped with a power jack, VGA out and a battery while the front of the Compaq 8510p features the screen latch and the indicator lights. The left side of the Compaq 8510p is equipped with an Ethernet port, fire-wire, vent, HDMI, two USB and many more while the right side of the device plays host to the microphone in, two USB ports, optical drive and modem.

Wireless

The device is support with an Intel 4965AG wireless, which is quite handy and highly performing than the previous ones used.

An 8-cell battery supplies power to the Compaq 8510p notebook, which is quite handy. The device is equipped with a capacity of 73WHr. Accompanying the device and battery is a 90W HP Smart AC Adapter. When a procurer used the device to play games and watch movies it would take about 160 minutes for the battery to be empty. But this could be enhanced if normal applications are used.
