Hp PhotoSmart M525 Digital Camera: I Never Leave Home Without It

Caryn Murray
As a new mommy I wanted, no... I needed a nice digital camera. So I hunted high and low for one. I played with so many cameras I thought I would never want to see another camera again. For 2 weeks straight I searched electronic stores, malls, the internet... and I still couldn't find the 'perfect digital camera.'

I was looking for too much, it seemed. I wanted something affordable (working with a very limited budget) and something that wasn't cheap. I wanted something that wouldn't take poor quality pictures. I started with the goal of finding a decent digital camera for under $100. That, my dear reader, is never going to happen. Fear not, because if you can be just a little bit flexible I was able to purchase the best digital camera of all the cameras I played with for only $120!

Through my search, I found some cameras with so many knobs and buttons that it was overwhelming just trying to turn the darn thing on. The Hp PhotoSmart M525 digital camera has all those special feautures (zoom, menu for editing right on the camera, controlling the flash and lighting, etc.) without being even the least bit confusing. The power button is easy to find, and the menu, zoom, and controls are very, very easy to use. I didn't even have to look through the manual that came with it to figure out how to use any of these feautures. (I'm a natural blonde, so if I can do it you can too.)

The HP PhotoSmart M525 has an LCD screen large enough to view your pictures as opposed to those itty bitty screens other cameras in the same price range offer. This digital camera has a 3x optical zoom. You can zoom in more and this camera will let you know when you are entering the 'digital quality' zone. The photo quality found in most other digital cameras of this price range were highly disappointing, however the HP PhotoSmart M525 has 6 megapixels! Other cameras that offered the same photo quality averaged at a price of $200 or more.

I was sold on the spot, and a bit surprised that the HP PhotoSmart M525 digital camera wasn't all sold out. Now please understand that although the camera only costs $120, you will need to spend a bit more. The camera alone only holds about 9 pictures, so you will want to purchase a memory card. I spent about 10 dollars on a memory card, and now my digital camera can hold over 200 pictures.

It also took me a month of owning a digital camera to decide I would save a lot of money if I spent $20 on rechargeable batteries. I would recommend rechargeable batteries to anyone who owns a digital camera, because you will need them. The photo quality on my HP PhotoSmart M525 digital camera was so good that I splurged another $100 on a docking photo printer. This is not necesary with a digital camera, but your pictures will look like you just picked them up from a one hour developing station.

In summary, even if you have more than $100 to spend, I would still recommend the HP PhotoSmart M525 digital camera. It will meet and exceed all your digital photo needs, and is in my opinion wonderfully underpriced. It is very easy to use, and durable. The Hp PhotoSmart M525 digital camera can also record up to 15 minutes (with the memory card I am using) of video. I would not recommend this as a digital video camera, because you cannot zoom or control lighting when you are recording a video. The video recording feauture is simply an added bonus on your digital photo camera. The best thing about this camera is that your photos come out much better than digital quality, and I must stress again the price is absolutely wonderful for a camera of this quality!
