Hrithik Roshan was born in Mumbai, on January 10, 1974. With luck on his side he was born into a very well known family full of cinema personalities, which one day would lead him into the path of ultimate stardom. His father is the well known Bollywood film director Rakesh Roshan who in return is the son of music director Roshan. As for Hrithik Roshan's mother Pinky, is the daughter of producer and director J. Om. Prakash. Hrithik Roshan has one sibiling his sister Sunaina. He is married to Suzanne Khan with whom he had a son named Rehaan.

Hrithik Roshan received his first taste of the film industry when he was six years old in 1980 in the movie Aasha. Where he was cast as an extra in a dance sequence. He continued to play minor roles in movies which his father played the lead role such as Aap Ke Deewane in 1980 and Bhagwan Dada in 1986. Later on in the mid 90's Hrithik Roshan became an assistant director for his father helping him direct the bollywood hit movies Karan Arjun and Koyla.

Hrithik Roshan didn't make his film debut untill 2000 where he starred in the Bollywood movie Kaho Naa...Pyar Hai! The movie became the highest grossing film in 2000 and won the Filmfare Best Movie Award. With that movie alone Hrithik Roshan also won Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, and Filmfare Best Actor Award. 2001 also proved to be a quite successful year with hit movies Fiza, Mission Kashmir, Yaadein, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. As for 2002 Hrithik Roshan's career hit rock bottom when all three of his movies which he starred in such as Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Na Tum Jano Na Hum, and Aap Muje Achche Lagne Lage all failed at the box office. The promising actor was able to make a comeback in 2003 with the sci-fi movie Koi Mil Gaya which also became the highest grossing movie of the year. The movie led him to win his second Filmafare Best Actor Award and his first ever Filmfare Best Actor (Critics) Award. In 2004 Hrithik Roshan only did one move Lakshya Which became another one of his movies which didn't do so well at the box office. After hitting the slumps again Hrithik Roshan took a two year break. He came back in 2006 with the movie Krirish which became the top grosser of 2006. Along with the movie Dhoom 2 which won him his third Filmfare Best Actor Award. He then took another break only to return in 2008 with Jodhaa Akbar, where he played a historical role of a 16th century emperor. The movie did excellent in India and Worldwide.

Even though Hrithik Roshan may have seen his share of up's and downs in the film industry he has alway been able to come out of his slumps and give his fans a phenomenal performance. The talented Hirthik Roshan as of right now is working on three new movies which will be coming out in 2009. They are Luck By Chance where he will be making a special appearance and starring roles in Kites, and Krrish 2. So be on the look out for he never fails to suprise his viewers with his stellar performance.
