HTC Desire Phone Review

The HTC Desire is probably one of the best phones I have used because it is very interactive and you can customize the look and feel of the phone. The HTC Desire offers a newly designed multi touch interface that allows you to navigate through the pages of the phone quickly. This means that you can launch applications a lot faster than you previously couldn't on the HTC Hero which required that you scroll through all seven pages of the user interface of the phone to find an application. Another feature that is unique to the HTC Desire is the ability to group your frequently used contacts into groups. You can scroll through favorite contacts and break them down into groups. You can separate friends and workers and access their information in seconds. This was also not available on the HTC Hero phone and the screen of the HTC Desire is almost 4 inches and very bright. This is about an inch bigger than the HTC Hero and the same size and form as the Google Nexus One phone.

Navigation is a track pad and this makes it easier to use the phone than I found the trackball to be on the HTC Hero. Another special feature on the Desire is the friends steam feature that allows you to group all of your social networking from Facebook, Myspace and Twitter and you will be given alerts of any actions that your friends make online. The Desire has a 5MP camera and this is an advantage over the 4MP camera found on the Hero. There is no auto focus on the camera offered by the HTC Desire even though it is included on the Hero but I find that picture quality is much better on the HTC Desire. I was able to get a talk time of 3.5 hours on the HTC Hero and a talk time of 4.5 hours on the HTC Desire so there is a clear advantage there.

What I don't like about the HTC Desire is that it is about 3 inches thick and quite bulky and I wish it were smaller and more compact. Also, the camera flash is too bright and sometimes can ruin pictures when flash is needed. What I love about the HTC Desire is that it ruins the Android operating system so everything works great and is well worth the $400 that T-mobile charges. The HTC Desire also has very clear reception and the reception on the HTC Hero is lower quality.
