What it Does
The HTC Flyer is a 7-inch TFT LCD tablet which comes with a stylus. It supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 which gives you a true Internet browsing experience. Instead of the typical Android operating system which most non-Apple tablets use, the HTC Flyer uses the HTC Sense operating system. This system is customizable, easy-to-use, and streamlines the tablet experience.
It has an awesome camera whit lets you add live effects and post effects, something not many other tablets let you do. If all you want to do is take silly pictures then add the effects before you shoot. If you're not sure what effect will make the best photo, take them regularly and add them in after. Once you're done, share them on Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr in an extremely simple way. Snapbooth is a similar program that comes with virtual lenses and effects. Another thing you can do with Snapbooth is take 4 shots and create a composite photograph. There is a camcorder mode where you can regulate video quality to manage the size of the file. It comes with built-in Wi-Fi so you can connect to the Internet via a wireless router at your home or at the local Starbucks, library, airport, etc.
An interesting feature of the HTC Flyer is the Live Lock Screen. Basically, this lets you jump straight to an app while the tablet is locked by dragging the icon to the ring at the bottom of the screen. It's an interesting way to let you access some of the more commonly used apps without having to unlock the tablet and go through more steps. In a world of efficiency the less steps you can take to do something the better. Another feature of the HTC Flyer is the ability to view Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr updates all in a single feed. Update all of them at once or do it individually. This is a nice way of managing all of your social networking presences without having to browse between them all or using multiple apps. Receive automatic weather updates if you want.
Use skins to personalize your home screen, buttons, application screens, and option menus. This is just one way that the HTC Flyer lets you completely customize your tablet experience. With the Notes app you can sketch a drawing and attach a photo, file, or calendar link to it. You can also record audio and match it to the sketch. Evernote syncs notes to a cloud which can be accessed everywhere. Get them on your phone and home computer as well as the HTC Flyer. HTC Scribe is a function similar to the Notes app that lets you doodle on a page, highlight a passage, or sign a document.
In addition to all of the features previously mentioned, you can rent or buy movies with HTC Watch. Movies can be purchased through the Android Market, but it can also be bought through the Amazon market and many other apps which access independent stores. The HTC Flyer has Bluetooth 3.0 technology and can connect to any Bluetooth device. It also has GPS technology so you can get directions to any destination and figure out where you are from anywhere, anytime. One of the coolest features of the HTC Flyer, something which not many tablets can compare to, is the sound system. The HTC Flyer has dual speakers with SRS WOW HD surround sound.
Accessories:
A leather pouch can be purchased to store the tablet in. There is also a desktop docking station available so you can charge the tablet while still using it.
