Since August of 2009, there has been an initiative in the city of Cleveland, OH to be a leader in the future green economy of the United States. Mayor Frank Jackson has made a promise that the city of Cleveland can be sustained on a green economy in the future with a goal of 2019. With this proposal, there will be a rise in green job, which will be a much needed economic boost to the Cleveland area.

If you are looking for a job now in the green economy, a great place to start would be GE. Located near the city of Cleveland in Twinsburg, OH, GE is currently hiring employees in the solar engineering division. A great candidate for these jobs will have some experience in solar, water, wind and alternative fuels. Requirements for employment will be degrees in Botany, Floriculture, Plant Taxonomy, Landscape Management, Parks & Recreation experience and Bachelor degrees in the Life Sciences and Management.
