Huddle House Country Fried Steak Griddle Review

Amy Brantley
One of my favorite places to eat is the Huddle House. Not only do they have awesome waffles, but many of their dinner dishes are out of this world. One of my favorite meals to order is the country fried steak with French fries. So, naturally, when I saw their new Country Fried Steak Griddle meal I had to try it. Would the combination be too strange to choke down or would the combination of flavors be amazing?

The Country Fried Steak Griddle starts with a bed of home fries that are tossed with freshly sauteed peppers and onions. The home fries are then topped with a large piece of country fried steak which is covered in sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and cheese. I know it may sound strange, but to be perfectly honest, it has to be the best thing I've ever ate at the Huddle House.

The peppers and onions were cooked perfectly, weren't greasy and still had a nice snap, but more importantly, the flavor of the vegetables really made this dish. The onions combined with the flavor of the gravy and eggs was wonderful. With each bite, this dish became better and better. Whoever thought up this combination of flavors was a genius.

If country fried steak isn't your thing, the Huddle House offers other flavors of Griddle meals. You can choose between bacon and sausage or meat lover's, which contains bacon, sausage and ham. Personally, I'll stick with the country fried steak version.

I would have to give this meal 5 out 5 stars. It's one of the best meals I've had in a long, long time. Granted it's the type of meal that arrives and you worry about what it will do to your heart, but then you know it will be so good for your soul that it will even out. In all honesty, you shouldn't have this dish very often, but when you do, you'll be so glad you did. I highly recommend it to anyone that loves to have breakfast for dinner because it's quite a heavy meal to start your day with.

Amy, this is my last day reading or writing here. I will miss your work, of course, but I'll miss you as a friend even more. I wish you the best things in life and I thank you for all of your support over the years.
