Ever since I was a little girl, my family has camped at Comlara County Park. Nestled on the 900 acre Evergreen Lake, you wake up to beautiful views and a clean park!

Comlara boasts 137 camp sites, mostly electric. The sites are spread apart well, so you don't feel like you're camping on top of each other. The bath houses are good, but they could be nicer. They definitely need a little updating, but are livable. Comlara's campgrounds are open all year-a-round and rates range from $13-$19 per night. Campers who stay longer than 7 days will receive a 20% discount on their rates.

The park offers loads of activities for any outdoor enthusiast! Camping, boating, swimming, hunting, fishing, picnicking, hiking, and much more! With a 900 acre lake, there's no question that this is a place to come boat or fish! It is also one of the most popular spots for sail boarders in Central Illinois. The park rents out canoes, paddle boats, and row boats (with or without motors).

With year-a-round activities, the winter months bring ice skating, ice fishing, and cross country skiing. As always, call ahead before heading out to do these activities to see if conditions are favorable.

Comlara does not allow swimming in Evergreen Lake, so they have a small lake called Glasener Beach. It's a 2.5 acre lake with 4 acres of beach. It's the perfect place to go and sunbathe and just play for hours on end. They have beach volleyball, a giant water umbrella, diving platform, and Lazy Lagoon areas were you can just float along and enjoy the sun.

The park is a beautiful setting for a reunion, family portrait, or even a wedding. They have several picnicking areas and playgrounds for the kids, even enough space for you to run and play! After all that play time, you can take a bike ride or hike on one of the park's 10 miles of nature trails.

All in all, Comlara County Park is a great place to spend a day, a few days, or even a week or two! There's always a ton of activities to choose from.
