Across the world, many love the works of Shakespeare; books, productions and movies have long celebrated his work. In 1987, an outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream kicked off the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. This year the festival is bigger and better than ever. In 1987 its first audience consisted of only 230 people but in 2009 it topped 32,000. The 2010 season, which is from June 15 to September 5, features the productions Troilus and Cressida, The Taming of the Shrew and The Bomb-itty of Errors.

Pricing for the tickets depends on when you attend. Preview shows cost $29. For June, July and September, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday ticket prices are $32, Friday and Sunday tickets cost $38 and Saturday tickets cost $45.
