Huge SEC Showdown Between LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide on Sat., Nov. 6, 2010

SEC West Showdown of Top Teams on 11/26; Only Auburn Stands in Their Way

Darrin Atkins
The SEC college football conference in 2010 is once again showcasing the best that college football can offer. Auburn, Alabama and LSU all have a decent chance of winning the SEC. The game on Nov. 6 between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide may be the biggest game of the year for both teams.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) usually has some of the very best football programs in the country. The year 2010 is no different because currently there are three SEC college football teams ranked in the top 12 of both the BCS Standings and the AP Top 25 at espn.com. These teams are Auburn, Alabama and LSU.

That is why the big matchup on Nov. 6 (8 p.m. EST) of the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road against LSU is so important. Another loss for either team will definitely knock them out of a shot at a national championship or big BCS bowl. LSU lost their first game to Auburn on Oct. 23. Alabama hit a speed bump back on Oct. 9 when they lost to South Carolina.

If the Tide can win on the road against LSU on Nov. 6 and win against Mississippi State and Georgia State, they would have a huge matchup at home against Auburn on Nov. 26. That game could have huge positive implications for the Crimson Tide if they can muster the strength and power needed for a win against Auburn.

You can bet that Oregon, Boise State and TCU will be cheering for Alabama on 11/26 because a loss for Auburn will almost definitely knock them out of playing for a national championship. Auburn needs to keep its focus and not take any team lightly for the rest of 2010 if they want to play for the bragging rights for best college football team in 2010.

The Southeastern Conference always has some of the greatest and most exciting college football teams in all of the land. This year, sit back and watch the SEC and its top three teams as they battle for supremacy in the SEC.

I like Alabama. Even though they destroyed my Penn State this year, I like the school. Academics is a big part of their football program.
