"House" is a wildly funny show. Hugh Laurie's ironic wit makes it a must-see show. He plays a doctor whose intelligence is matched only by his bitterness. Laurie built a loyal cadre of fans for his work in this very popular show.

He is now nominated for an Emmy Award, notes the New York Times . He is well qualified indeed for is nomination in the category of 'Lead Actor in a Drama." He has had stunning success and built a unique character in his time on this show.

Laurie not only displays an astute intelligence as an actor, his physical presence is demanding too. There is a tension in the way he holds himself while playing a doctor. His every movement and facial nuance has an intensity that demands attention.

Medical shows are often too detailed and gruesome for many people. However, in this show, no matter how complicated the medical issue, Laurie manages to make it fascinating, even though sometimes in a macarbre way.

Laurie is outrageous in his role on "House." He makes the audience laugh with his foibles and antics. He is a serious actor who manages to also cram a lot of dry wit into his role.

He shows a lot of genius in his acting performances. He made the show beloved by people who are fussy about what they will watch. Hugh Laurie deserves to win awards for his efforts as an actor. The character he created is unique, Machiavellian, entertaining and most of all. his own man.

The show had a very dramatic ending this year. Were the writers trying to get the show nominated for awards with the intense action? Of course they were! And now Laurie is nominated and probably feeling quite happy. Will the grumpy doctor from this show find that his caustic personality wins him an award?

Award shows are often very surprising in who actually wins the awards. It is typically impossible to predict who will win. An actor such as Laurie is so outside of the box of normal television characters that it is especially tough to even guess if his performances will result in the honor of winning awards.
