Hugh Laurie's Whiter Shade of Pale Video Brings Down the House

The Doc is Always Right, Everybody Lies?

Lori Lane
On the March 15, 2010 episode of House Hugh Laurie became musically in tune with his last fandango. Defined as a musical House nod, Dr. Gregory House, M.D., portrayed by Laurie, played the organ as described by news media, including MTV's newsroom. You would agree of the nod. That is if you witnessed Laurie belt out Procol Harum's Whiter Shade of Pale.

However, when searching for the video from the once methadone addicted doctor trying to assist his walking issues the whiter shade turned pale since the video is just as hard to find as the Dr. House's next remedy.

MTV.com offers the video line and you will fish, but there's a catch. Once you travel to their website, scroll down to view the popular piece, go through the advertisement, you find that Laurie's Whiter Shade of Pale video has been removed.

Everybody lies?

YouTube offers many versions of Whiter Shade of Pale, including from the original band Procol Harum. You can find Annie Lennox, Sarah Brightman, Helmut Lotti, a country version from John Farnham, Glenn Hughes, and Percy Sledge performing the great 1967 tune. Although there is not a doctor in the "house", thus far, if you seek to watch it.

Hulu.com also has not added the video just as of yet. You can search the recently added to find other episodes of House, but not where Laurie plays Whiter Shade of Pale.

Who would ever think that House would give nods to Laurie's performance? Laurie is not only an actor, voice artist, comedian, and writer with many awards under his belt. He's also a keyboard musician. According to Rolling Stone's 2007 interview, Dr. Feelbad felt pretty good about his future. Between the light slapstick comical answers from Laurie everyone could see that the future was his, he owned it.

For House to pinpoint a song that obviously marked many moments of historical celebrations, it was a full house, a winning hand through Laurie's natural gifts as one day you will see.

Again, one day.

Whiter Shade of Pale has also been popular amongst graduations and other events. I want to see the video due to the fact that my older sister turned me onto the song Whiter Shade of Pale when I was a kid. I fell in love with it instantly. She died four days before House aired the Laurie treat.

House videos should be released for viewing soon as Fox Broadcasting Company states it could take up to a week before the clips and shows appear on their website.

So, if you are interested in finding out just how Laurie did on the cover perhaps you will have to be patient. You know the old saying be patient of become one.

But then again, if no one shares the Hugh Laurie Whiter Shade of Pale cover after advertising it's arrival then the doc may have been right all along, everybody lies.

If you want to see Hugh Laurie in a completely different acting role you should watch him in the UK series Blackadder, many House viewers do not realise he is British.
