Hulk Hogan's Son Involved in Serious Accident

Nick Bollea, son of wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan, aka Terry Bollea was involved in a serious car accident Sunday evening, August 26, 2007. Clearwater, Florida police are still investigating, but speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Bollea was driving east on Court Street in Clearwater Sunday evening when he hit the median and lost control of the car. His bright yellow Toyota Supra skidded about 25 yards before spinning around and crashing into a palm tree located in the median.

Bollea and his passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano, had to be extracted from the car and flighted to an area hospital. Bollea was listed in serious condition upon arrival, but was released by morning. Graziano was more seriously injured and was said to be in critical condition at the hospital.

Graziano's family states that he is a U.S. Marine who returned from Iraq last year. Graziano's grandmother, Catherine Graziano told reporters that her grandson may have suffered brain damage in the accident. She spoke with her son, Graziano's father, who told her, "It doesn't look good."

As the investigation into the crash continues, Clearwater police spokesman Wayne Shelor reported, "There were no obvious, overt signs of impairment at the scene of the crash." Shelor also wants the public to be aware that a thorough investigation will be completed for all the facts to be established. It is not known at this time if Bollea was drag racing on the city street.

Hulk Hogan, a prominent resident of nearby Belleair was present at the scene of the crash and remained with his son until rescuers were able to remove the young men from the car. The family has lived in the Clearwater area for several years, though reports circulated in late 2006 that the family had placed their home on the market and moved to Miami. The family has since moved back to the Clearwater area.

In a statement released today, Linda Hogan, Nick Bollea's mother, states, "Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family. His sole concern is for the well-being of his friend. On behalf of my family, we ask that your thoughts and prayers be with John and his loved ones."
