Dog Worshipping

Michael Hardin
We live in the greatest nation in the world, and seemingly one of the most backward. In the past forty years of my life I have personally witnessed the regression of our society, as we have strayed from a once structured society, to a chaotic blend of religious beliefs

The one religion I find the most interesting, and understand the least, our infatuation with worshipping dogs. Five-Hundred years from now when archeologists dig up the remains of our society, they will find this to be true; the evidence will be overwhelming, finding the many things associated with this modern religious belief. Do not get me wrong I love animals as much as the next person, but come on lets get real. Animals are not man's superiors and should not be put high on a pedestal.

People now walk behind dogs as servants, picking up their droppings as they leave them. This seems to be in line with being a servant a servant never walks along side their master but behind. A servant would pick up their masters litter and so forth as it is left beside the road as they trail behind. Dogs have a better chance at health care in our country, as there are more animal shelters and veterinary clinics in our country than shelters for battered women and children. People accommodate them more than they do children, hotels, motels; even businesses are giving better treats to dogs than they do children.

One could honestly say that if Michael Vick used children to fight rather than dogs he would probably have gotten off with a stiff warning and probation. Animal abuse gets swifter justice than child abuse and requires much less evidence. Since children can talk attorneys usually twist their stories and trip them up easier. One just has to have pictures when pets are involved, or simply the word of another.

The number one thing that really bothers me is when dogs attack people we mull over what to do. When people attack dogs we act like someone just attacked the President of the United States and want swift justice, one would think dogs are lord of the manner, sacred as cows are in India. One would think that a crime against a dog is a crime against God.

Now is the time for redemption treat people like people and animals as the sheep that we tend and not the reverse.

  • Are we in America Dog Worshipping??
  • Do we treat dogs better than women and children?
  • Would Michael Vick have served as much time for child abuse??
Dogs are treated not as pets but as something more here in the United States.
Are we treating them better than we are each other.
