Human Dog Hybrid Exists Only in Art

Patricia Piccinini a "Different" Artist

Gary Davis
Human dog hybrid is in the news today. There really is no definition other than the obvious -- a human dog hybrid which would result from the mating of a human and a dog. Every so often a story like human dog hybrid emerges and it is hard to know how much credence to give it.

Tim Worstall has posted an article on Examiner.com Chicago titled "The human dog hybrid."

He begins by saying that every so often there is a "news release" that someone is doing secret work on such an insane concept as breeding a human and a dog.

As usual the information of a possible human dog hybrid starts with a phony news release. The one that Worstall uses is a possible "Chinese" experimentation that we better keep our eyes on.

As Worstall goes on to admit China is a large place so who knows what might be going on there?

What he was able to debunk was where the photos that accompanied the article came from.

The photos were pieces of art by one Patricia Piccinini who uses various methodologies to create different works.

Actually Patricia Piccinini is quite a piece of work herself. She was born in Australia and ultimately studied fine arts.

Her work such as human dog hybrid reflects an interest in bioethics and biological integration as well as technology.

She uses different ways to create her art including sculpture, video, drawing and video prints.

I have looked at "human dog hybrid" and have linked to Piccinini's work. I find it shocking and disgusting.

However, I encourage you to go look at it to draw your own conclusion. You may love her work.

You will note that much liked "human dog hybrid" Piccinini melds humans with animals and technology such as trucks and cars.

Or, she creates a "lump" which represents a baby growing up with commercialism.

My problem is that it is just one more way that a pot shot is taken at humanity.

Whether it is in art, science or politics it seems that we are becoming less and less important. We are a usable "entity" to be used by persons or groups to be what they want us to be and represent.

Weird stuff here. I am all for open expression but I'm not sure I understand what she is trying to say here. Your view on the dissappearing man is intriguing.

Why would anyone even consider merging a dog and a human? I'm glad it was just art. Then again, would it be possible in reality? I hope we never find out.
