Fun in the Sun

Heather Dekin
Energy roller-coaster going off the rails
at an obscenely frantic speed
Clocking the obsessive race at 100 MPH
Judges giving a 10 for originality
Desiring to be a sun blister
Burning all traces of skin and dependence
Doing back flips in a sea of bored sun burnt
bacon strips pretending to be special
When they will just be like everyone else
Not this strip though, there's something about it
That makes it unique in every extra crispy way
People always remember the extremists of the world
Not the run-of-the-mills average joes
Those are the winners
Never the losers
They're the ones who gave conventional society
Both of their middle fingers
And lived to tell the tale to everyone else.
