Humana and Walmart Announce Innovative Medicare Part D Drug Plan

According to John Agwunobi, M.D., President of Walmart's Health and Wellness division, "no one should have to choose between buying groceries or their medications." These immortal words come at a time when millions of Americans, especially seniors, are struggling to make ends meet. The choice between food and medical is a growing concern.

Walmart has partnered with Humana Inc. to introduce an unheralded Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. In the true sense of "Save Money Live Better", Walmart and Humana will be providing savings on copayments and monthly premiums.

The Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP) will offer recipients the lowest stand alone Medicare Part D premium plan in all 50 states and Washington D.C. With a monthly rate of $14.80, Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan will save the beneficiary more than $450 in 2011. The savings will be in the form of premiums and prescription medications co-pays.

The goal of the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan is to make healthcare more affordable while enabling people to live healthier lives and a better well being.
