Hummer H2 SUT - Terminator 2

General Motors presented the car in two variants: with basket and as a pickup. It is thought to be a sport utility truck. The back wall of passenger booth is removable so you can manipulate the loading ground and in such a way you can transport long loads. The pickup version was introduced in the second quarter of 2004. Comparing to the other representatives of Hummer, it is a small off-road car, however this jeep is enormously big. Its fate reminds the Terminator one. It is possible to say even now that this novelty will be much more successful than the first Hummer. The reason is that it is not just a remake of a well known army car. It is span-new, absolutely original car, which was done under impression of legendary military cross-country vehicle. Now it is thought that the new class of off-road car was exhibited.

Design

The interior of Hummer 2 is totally unique. The salon of the car makes you experience the distinct feeling that you live in the next era. Strictly outlined "functional areas" of front panel, finishing of doors of futurism design and, finally, inimitable on registration lever of selector of "automat", outwardly reminding the handle of management traction of reactive liner - everything tells you that the new times have come and you must be ready to the changes.

Engine

The car has permanent drive on all wheels. During the normal term of work 40% of twisting moment passes on the fore-axle. And the rest comes on the back ones. There is 8-cylinder engine which works on hydrogen. The adaptations of motor were done by the specialists from GM Fuel Cell Activities, located not far from Germany. For now it is impossible to say that hydrogen Hummer offers the special operating dignities as one priming lasts for only 80 km of run. For now there are only 10 places where you can fill the car with hydrogen in California. However Hummer H2 SUT for now serves as mobile "laboratory" where front-rank technical decisions are tested, and after it they will be possibly applied in mass production.

Brakes

The front brakes are of disk ventilated type and the back ones are disk. The ABS system is also available.

Performance

Hummer H2 SUT is especially interesting for its freight platform. The back wall of the booth can be taken off and so together with the built in back seats the cast aside skirting of the basket makes the freight platform very spacious. And in addition you can cast aside the top of the car. In such a way Hummer H2 SUT becomes the biggest off-road car in the world.

Safety

In especially heavy terms it is possible to block the differential of back bridge by pressing only one button. The electronic "Traction Control" in general has two working modes. One, when a skidding wheel is simply braked and its force is redirected to other wheels, to the best hooking, - thus the safest thing is to drive on slippery route. But there is yet the second mode, especially for the cross-country rides, when electronics assumes the certain slipping of wheels. It is needed when you drive in the sand or mud. Ordinary "Traction Control" in such situation, vice versa, worsens ability to travel cross-country. Finally in the most extreme situations it is possible to lower the pressure in tires, increasing the area of support of wheels at the same time. Certainly, it is a non-fully automated army technique. Setting on to the fight air will be necessary to plug in handle mode, but built-in wall of luggage rack compressor is responsible for pumping of the wheels.
