Laramie County Community College was blessed with nice summertime weather to help bring out the Cheyenne-area residents. Incredibly, all the meals served in the main food court were free, and there were scores of choices on hand for hungry attendees of this milestone event.
The Dining Room and Emporium Grand Opening at Laramie County Community College Was One Whale of a Feast
As grand openings go, this did not disappoint. Hundreds of people converged in the massive dining area and waited their place in line to partake of the following dishes, many of them self-serve: steak, pizza (from the on-site pizza oven that can be seen by diners), sandwiches, mashed potatoes, cheeseburgers, fries, roast beef, prime rib, salads, various fruit from strawberries to blueberries, cookies, pudding, soup, shrimp, crab legs, cereal, ice cream, various colas, coffee, tea, lemonade, etc.
The atmosphere was quite festive. During part of the grand opening for the entire community (4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.), a live jazz band could be heard playing. The President of LCCC, Darrel L. Hammon, was on-hand, meeting and greeting people at the entrance of the new dining facility.
According the website of Laramie County Community College here, this 21,562-square foot project has been close to a year and half in the making, as the beginning design process took place on April 16 (of last year). The massive construction project began on October 19. During this time, students were served food and dined out of modulars set up on campus near the construction site. The facility, including the Emporium (an accompanying café that's just south of the main dining facility), was open for business though last month, when Fall Semester classes got underway.
Anyone can purchase products here. Earlier in the day, from 1130 a.m. to 2 p.m., students and employees of Laramie County Community College had their own Grand Opening time period set aside for them. Student fees were increased $8 per credit hour to help pay for this project.
For more information about the new dining facilities at LCCC, go to the website here or call 307-778-1318.

Great review, and seems like a great enhancement for the college.
This is a very nice write-up Roy, and it is totally professional.
