When I wasn't under your spell
And I could think
Without you hovering around the edges of my mind
Now
My every breath
Is somehow for you.
My every need
Is fulfilled by you.
And you know it
Revel in it
Probably wonder why you were chosen
Plucked from a cast of millions
For this massive influx of adoration
That comes straight from my soul.
When you wound my fragile heart
Unwittingly and without malice
I vow to be strong
But I am weak
So weak.
For in your smile...
Reflected in your eyes
I see what was missing
The puzzle piece of life that has fallen into place
The question answered.
So wound me.
The pain is worth the pleasure.
I do not want to heal.
Keep me on the edge of
This misbegotten love
For I will never, ever be the same.
The innocence is gone
In its place is a hunger
Unfulfilled.
