Hunting in the Name of Fashion

Lindsical
I have recently become a fan of hunting. It really doesn't matter what I can hunt with, I just want to go hunting. I can't though; I do not have a hunting license or have gone through a hunter's safety course. Yet. There is only one thing that disturbs me about the hunting world and it's not the fact that I'm going to be killing anything; it's the fashion.

There is nothing really all that fashionable about hunting apparel. You have different types of camouflage but then it's broken down into different trees, climates, do you want to be just a block of brown and green against a tree or have your outfit look like tree branches. It just so happens that I like pink and when I say I just like pink it's really an understatement; almost everything I own is pink. Can I find pink camouflage? No. Can I find regular camouflage with just hints of pink in it? No.

If you're bow hunting, it's not a good idea to wear bright colors when you're 20 feet in the air, standing in a tree stand. I mean what if a deer were to see you? Can a deer even look up that high? I understand, it's the element of surprise you want to take down a buck; but I'm female. I want-no, I need to look good doing it. If its gun season, I want to be bright as possible just so I don't have some other hunter's bullet mistaking me for a deer. I know I have to wear that eye-raping hunter's orange but I'm not wearing brown or green with it.

There is only one company that has really delivered for me in the "I want a splash of color to my hunting apparel". I have purchased a Realtree product. It is a pink winter hat with camouflage on it. It also has Budweiser written on it. Since when did people think that alcohol and hunting go together? Well, I can't say one company won't accommodate my pickiness, Mossy Oak does have a pink t-shirt with camouflage writing on it but there has to be more to the clothing selection than that.

Keli Van Cleave is president of Pinkoutdoors.com. She wears pink to hunt. She has pink arrows, bow, broadheads; you name it and it's probably pink. I on the other hand have a pink wriststrap, a pink string silencer and a pink grip and absolutely no pink camouflage.
