The 2010-2011 hunting season consist of the following animals and dates:
Wild Boar
The gun season for hunting wild boar in West Virginia starts on October 23 till October 30, 2010. You're allowed to kill one boar during the gun season.
The archery season for hunting wild boar in West Virginia starts on October 16 through December 31, 2010. You're allowed to kill one boar during the archery season.
Deer (Buck)
The gun season for hunting a buck in West Virginia runs from November 22 till December 4, 2010. All bucks must have horns 3" or more to be legal. Deer (Archery Season)
The archery season for deer starts on September 13-18 2010 and October 16 till December 31, 2010. You can kill up to three deer (antlerless). Also, you can purchase additional stamps as well to raise the bag limit.
Deer (Muzzleloader Season)
Muzzle loading season for deer in West Virginia starts on September 20-25, 2010 and December 13-18, 2010. You can kill up to two deer's during this season in addition to the bag limit of the archery and gun season. You'll have to purchase an additional stamp to be able to kill a second deer. Bear (Archery Season)
Bear hunting season for using a bow starts on October 16 till November 20, 2010. You're allowed to kill one bear during the archery season.
Bear (Gun Season)
Bear hunting using a gun in West Virginia starts on September 27-29, 2010, September 27 till October 2, 2010, November 22 till December 4, 2010 and December 6 -31, 2010. You may kill one bear during the gun season for bear. You can view the selected counties for bear hunting by clicking here.
Turkey (Fall Season)
The fall season for hunting turkey in West Virginia starts on the following dates: October 23-30, 2010, October 23 till November 6, 2010 and October 23 till November 20, 2010. Turkey Bearded (Spring Season)
The spring turkey season for bearded birds in West Virginia starts on April 25 till May 21, 2010. You're allowed to kill two bearded turkeys during the spring season.
Squirrel Season
The squirrel season in West Virginia starts on October 9 till January 31, 2010. You're allowed to kill 6 a day. West Virginia has gray, black, fox and albino squirrels that may be killed during the squirrel season.
Ruffed Grouse Season
The ruffed grouse season in West Virginia starts on October 16 till February 28, 2010. You're allowed to kill 4 grouse per day.
Bobwhite Quail Season
The bobwhite quail season in West Virginia starts on November 6 till January 1, 2010. You're allowed to kill 3 bobwhite quail per day.
Cottontail Rabbit Season
The cottontail rabbit season in West Virginia starts on November 6 till February 28, 2010. You're allowed to kill 5 rabbits per day.
Snowshoe or Varying Hare Season
The snowshoe or varying hare season in West Virginia starts on November 6 till February 28, 2010. You're allowed to kill two per day during the season.
