Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding

A Product Review

Tina Twito
It's great to find a product that combines a good price, convenience and great taste. Hunt's makes a line of "Snack Pack" puddings that fill the bill on all counts. At Wal-Mart, they cost around one dollar for four servings, and they come in a large variety. "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" is one of my favorites!

"Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" comes in a swirling red package with pictures of pouring, splashing milk, and a spoonful of caramel colored pudding. The package also tells me that "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" has no preservatives and is made with real nonfat milk, which is enriched with calcium, so it sounds like it's pretty good and good for me.

"Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" is a caramel-y tan color. You can see the Butterscotch. The pudding has a smooth, velvety texture, and a rich butterscotch flavor. Buttery rich and sweet, but not too sweet. I have always liked the rich flavors of butterscotch and caramel, and butterscotch is one of my favorite kinds of pudding. For the convenience and price (and for portion control), "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" is a winner. And it tastes nearly as good as the cook and serve kind.

The only drawback to "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" is that it has little nutritional value. But, unlike some of the other varieties, a 99 gram cup of "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding" does have ten percent of your daily recommended amount of calcium and a bit of protein. Each cup also has nine percent of your daily recommended value of saturated fat, 110 calories, and 16 grams of sugar. This is quite a bit, though for a desert type food, I don't think this is terrible.

All in all, I would recommend "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Puddings" as long as you eat them in moderation. They are not great, nutritionally speaking, but they are a nice little pick me up that are far better for you than a bag of chips or a candy bar. I greatly enjoyed the Butterscotch flavor, and though I'm not sure how a product with milk in it can be stored in the cupboard without any preservatives, I'm glad Hunt's found a way to do so. (Many other puddings are full of those polysyllabic chemical wonders.)

So if you want a sweet treat, and enjoy Butterscotch pudding, I recommend "Hunt's Butterscotch Snack Pack Pudding".

Enjoy!

I wish Hunts would make a already made sugar free butterscotch.
