Even though I had seen them stocked on supermarket shelves for years, it wasn't until recently that I began purchasing and eating various brands and styles of canned pasta sauces. Last week, I tried Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce for the first time and I'm glad I did so.
Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article which reviews and examines Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce.
Size
The net weight of the standard sized can of Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce is 26.5 ounces (one pound, 10.5 ounces). That's a significant amount of sauce to be contained in one can. According to the product's nutrition facts label, the container holds about six 1/2 cup (126 grams) servings. In physical size, the can measures roughly 5.5" x 4".
Price
The regular retail price charged for one 26.5 ounce can of Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets generally ranges between $1.29 and $1.49. This price range seems very reasonable to me. Most other brands of pasta sauce are usually priced significantly higher than the Hunt's sauce.
Consistency / Texture
This pasta sauce features a semi-thick consistency that is accented by a good amount of small pieces of beef. The beef pieces are sort of roundish and are soft in texture. When I recently ate this sauce on two occasions, it clung well to the pasta that it was served with.
Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce possesses an overall pleasing mouth feel and its consistency also makes it an excellent base for pizza sauce.

Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce contains 60 calories, with 10 calories from fat, per 1/2 cup (126 grams) serving. This pasta sauce also contains 0 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 1 gram total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 610 mg of sodium, 300 mg of potassium, 10 grams total carbohydrates, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 6 grams of sugars and 2 grams of protein, per 1/2 cup serving.
Taste / Flavor
One of the reasons why I like purchasing Hunt's brand products, is the consistent high level of quality the products possess. This sauce offers a vibrant tomato flavor that is slightly sweet and nicely seasoned. While I enjoy eating various cuts of beef, it seems to me that the pieces of beef in this sauce do not necessarily offer huge amounts of flavor.
To my tastebuds, Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce is a very tasty, basic pasta sauce that actually tastes better than some other, jarred pasta sauces I have eaten. It is also a good sauce to add your own ingredients to. Personally, I added a little bit of garlic powder and Sweet 'n Low, to adjust the flavor a little more to my liking. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.
Packaging
Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce is packaged in a fairly tall metal can. The can requires the use of a can opener to open. The festive, largely red and green front label features an appealing looking plate of sauce-topped pasta in the foreground and the rear label lists all relevant ingredient and nutritional information.
Overall Rating
All things considered, Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce is a very good sauce that is exactly what it claims to be. This canned pasta sauce is very reasonably priced and is stocked and sold at food retailers across America. Hunt's Meat flavored Pasta Sauce is a recommended item.
