Hurricane Alex Surfacing, Texas and Mexico Prepares While Alex Waves at Oil Spill

Be Aware, Beware, Prepare!

Soon to be Hurricane Alex the southern tip of Texas and northern Mexico prepare for a late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning landfall by an approximate 100 mph cat. 2, if Alex does not lose strength. Should Alex reach over 110 mph it would deem a cat. 3 but that is not expected. Multiple counties are preparing for this potential flood monster, including Nueces according to KIII 3, Texas news source.

Port Aransas, Holiday Beach, Mustang Island and other coastal communities are preparing as tourists begin to move more inland and the coastal community is full aware of the flooding that may occur with this upcoming hurricane. Hurricane warnings have been posted from the mouth of the Rio Grande to La Cruz. A hurricane warning posted 36 hours in advance defines above 74 mph winds upon predicted impact.

The Gulf coast is feeling the TS Alex pinch even though hundreds of miles away from the oil spill. Whether or not Alex shifts the oil towards land or to catch a ride with the current is not known at this time - only speculation. However, oil spill clean up efforts are said to continue at this time as the predicted hurricane waves by. The waves tend to be a concern as the force of water could push the oil closer to land and tangle with the marshes.

BP "bump preparations" lives up to the reputation as the guys who couldn't plan straight. Most are concerned since BP had two months to plan for upcoming hurricanes - but surprise, or not - prepare for some tar balls to take a ride on the waves of Alex towards land.

Off the cuff a fictional story comes to mind, Black Hurricane. Black Hurricane suggests, through story, of the aftermath mixing a hurricane and the oil spill. But remember, it's fictional - but a good 3 page read.

If you didn't get supplies, get them now! Water is already disappearing from shelves in various coastal areas and inland stores. Most have seen this before. Hello Dolly? Hurricane Dolly made landfall with surge in 2008 along the Texan and Mexican border. But for newbies here's a fully loaded seven page guide to assist in Hurricane preparation.

As Hurricane Alex is about to be born from a tropical storm the only thing a person can do is prepare, move inland and hope for the best. It's the key between a life and death situation. Be aware, beware, prepare! Even if it weakens, the whipping winds and water surge along with downpour can cause more than meets the eye of Hurricane Alex.
