As described by the manufacturer, the device only needs distilled water which it electrolyzes to generate hydrogen gas. It does not use chemicals or lye that could corrode the engine. Hydrogen is sent into the combustion chamber of the vehicle with the usual fuel gases. Here it is burned and energy is released to propel the vehicle. The hydrogen gas improves the efficiency of the combustion process - normally 10-15% of the fuel is wasted and thrown out with the emissions buy Hydro-4000 significantly cuts down the wasted fuel. The energy required for the electrolysis is harnessed from an existing unused source of energy in the vehicle like the alternator that keeps turning continuously. Water resulting from the combustion does not harm the vehicle cylinder - due to the heat in the engine, it vaporizes and escapes in the form of steam.
The device is claimed to be compatible with most vehicles and is designed to fit under the hood, in front of the wheel well, outside or below the engine compartment, etc. During winter, to keep the water from freezing, alcohol must to added to the Hydro-4000.
NewsChannel 5 has confirmed that tests on a vehicle fitted with Hydro-4000 gave them 60% savings in fuel consumption over the conventional method.
It is priced at $1,999 and comes with a one year warranty. It is also eligible for the new energy tax credits. It can be purchased from GREEN Machine Solutions Inc. or online from their website. The company also sells Hydro-5000 which is designed for 18-wheelers and tractor trailers.
The Hydro-4000 comes at a time when gas prices are soaring through the roof. In the recent weeks, gas prices have breached a recent high of $125 per gallon. I commute back and for the between New York and Philadelphia 2-3 times a week, grossing about 4,000 miles a month. I get around 25 miles to a gallon on my car and spend about $600 at the gas pump every month. With this device, if get 35 miles per gallon, I could potentially save $170 every month! That is a significant saving relative to the upfront cost of the Hydro-4000. I would break even within just 7 months of using Hydro-4000. Even if there are periodic maintenance expenses, I will save a significant amount of money.
If the device is ratified through stringent tests and delivers as promised, I will be happy to install one in my car. If many drivers use the Hydro-4000, the overall consumption of gasoline will drop and gas prices will decrease. The Hydro-4000 also makes me happier about being more environment friendly with lesser emissions. Given these benefits, the Government must encourage the public to use such devices.
