Hyland's Homeopathic Calm Forte Sleep Aid Review

The Pen
I have been a really bad sleeper ever since I was 15. I regularly have periods of insomnia where it takes me forever to get to sleep. And when I am able to finally fall asleep I usually wake up once or twice in the middle of the night.

In addition to this, I've become a freakishly light sleeper. I began to need a pitch black room and absolute silence in order to fall asleep. I mean the slightest noise, from a whisper to a cough could wake me and keep me up for hours on end.

So somewhere along the line I began to feel anxious when it was time for me to go to bed. Some noise from my neighbors would always prevent me from falling asleep or would wake me up hours into my sleep.

This anxiousness led me to resisting sleep itself, since I knew I was only going to feel awful when I was inevitably awakened. So I wound up falling into another spell of insomnia.

I thought it would pass but after about a month I couldn't fall asleep until the early hours of the morning. I felt awful, couldn't think clearly, and was frankly, starting to look a hot mess, so I knew that I had to try a pill to help me get to sleep.

I didn't want to go the Tylenol PM route or other traditional sleeping pills because most of them contained the pain reliever acetaminophen, which I didn't think was necessary to take since I wasn't in any pain. And I didn't want a pill that would be addictive or make me feel doped up.

After looking through the selection at Walgreen's I found Hyland's Homeopathic Calms Forte Sleep Aid. I bought 50 capsules for $7 because it claimed to be all-natural gentle, safe and non-habit forming .

Calms Forte is also supposed to ease you into sleep by soothing nervousness and edginess so that you wake up alert and refreshed without the foggy, groggy hangover feel that other sleep aids give. Plus Hyland's Calms Forte won't interact with other medications.

I checked the ingredients on the box, and saw that Hyland's Homeopathic Calms Forte contained natural ingredients like passiflora for restless sleep, avena sativa for nervousness and stress, humulus lupulus for drowsiness from incomplete sleep, and chamomile for nervous irritability.

I was honestly really skeptical about trying Calms Forte, even though I wanted an all-natural sleep aid I didn't have a ton of faith that it would work as well as mainstream sleeping pills would. But I hoped for the best and tried the Calms Forte later on that night.

I took three of Hyland's tablets at around 2am when I felt tired but still too antsy to fall asleep naturally. And about 20 or 30 minutes later I started to feel a lot more relaxed and calm and I started to yawn incessantly.

I wound up falling asleep 15 minutes later and the real triumph was that I stayed asleep the entire night. I didn't hear my neighbors at all, there was no tossing and turning, there was only deep peaceful slumber.

I really liked that Hyland's Calms Forte didn't knock me out cold or make me feel heavy and drowsy. It felt like I was naturally falling asleep and the next morning I didn't feel groggy and delirious.

I continued to use two Hyland's tablets each night for the next week and a half and I got the same results, peaceful deep sleep. Now I've stopped taking the pills and am able to fall asleep on my own now by midnight, and I'm still able to sleep throughout the entire night.

Even though Hyland's Homeopathic Calms Forte claimed that I'd wake up feeling fully refreshed, I didn't feel that way. Maybe it was because I was so sleep deprived, but every time I took one of the sleep aids I wanted to stay in bed for two or three more hours and continue to sleep. I didn't feel groggy but I still felt tired.

In the end...

Although I still need to ease myself onto a steady sleep schedule. I can now fall asleep on my own much earlier than before, because of Hyland's Homeopathic Calms Forte Sleep Aid.

And even though some people say that these tablets only have a placebo effect, I have found that Calms Forte genuinely allows me to unwind whenever I'm feeling too stressed to fall asleep on my own and it has helped to relieve my horrible period of insomnia.

I won't hesitate to use these pills whenever I'm having problems sleeping. They work and aren't habit forming so I totally recommend them to anyone who needs to relax and find a good night's sleep. I give Hyland's Calms Forte 5 out of 5 stars.
