Hyland's Vitamin C Tablets Review

Great Taste and Easy to Take for Toddlers and Children

When my son was two years old I started working full time and for the first time in his life he had to attend a daycare while I was at work. My son had always been an extremely healthy little boy who was sick at most twice a year and even at his worst his cold or flu was mild. This all changed after he attended daycare and I felt it necessary to introduce him to vitamins. His experience with pills only consisted of Hyland's Teething Tablets, but I bought him multivitamins for children, both the chewable kind and the gummy kind. My attempt to get him to take either of these things was hardly successful so I glad when I saw Hyland's Vitamin C Tablets.

The bottle that these Vitamin C tablets came in looked identical to the teething tablets one so I hoped that I would be able to encourage my son to eat these tablets because he was quite fond of the teething tablets. However after opening the bottle I noted that the tablets were darker than the teething tablets and read the bottle to see that they had a lemon taste. Previously I tried to convince my toddler to take orange flavored vitamins and he was quick to spit them out. However he never fought me on the Hyland's Vitamin C Tablets and embraced them very much. Later he started happily taking his multivitamins and I owe this to the vitamin C tablets taste. I tasted one of them myself and thought that they tasted nothing like the teething tablets, but were definitely nice and sweet.

The bottle recommended the Hyland's Vitamin C tablets for children two-year-old and up so they were perfect for my son. The bottle contained 125 tablets and two tablets provide just over the daily requirement for children of vitamin C. I gave my son two tablets everyday until he became comfortable taking his multivitamin and then I only used them when I wanted to boost his immune system. In addition to boosting his immune system I like that the vitamin C will aid to his absorption of iron. Similar to the teething tablets the tablets dissolve almost instantly, making it easy for a toddler to take. I was very pleased with how well my son liked these tablets and will keep Hyland's Vitamin C Tablets on hand.

The Hyland's Vitamin C Tablets consisted of lactose, 35 milligrams for an inert base, and 25 milligrams of sodium ascorbate for the vitamin C. There was also natural lemon flavor and ascorbic acid was not used to avoid gastric irritation. These tablets never seemed to bother my son and he never had diarrhea as a result of taking them which can occur when someone takes too much vitamin C. Again I am very pleased with this product and happy that I found it. It was reasonably priced and under five dollars, which is great considering vitamins can be kind of expensive. I would definitely recommend it. Eventually despite going to daycare my son was sick with a cold or something else less and less, I like to believe that the vitamin C played a part in it.
