Hyperactivity in Children and Adults

Jenny Heart
Children aren't the only ones with issues about filling their time up wisely. Many children tend to become hyperactive when they can't find things to occupy themselves with.

Ideas for children

Keep different toys on hand for them

There are many different types of toys to consider when children are having a hard time stay focused on playing. Children should have different types of toys that can peek their interest, and keep them wanting to come back, and play with them over and over again.

What I do for the children I take care of from time to time.

Sierra and Rylei are great children that have great imaginations. Trying to keep the right toys on hand can be challenging and fun. Here are some of the things I keep on hand, and why these toys seem to keep them focused.

Magnetic dress up dolls

Magnetic dress-up dolls are fun to dress up. They don't tear easily due to how they are made. The children like to place them on my refrigerator, and dress them up as well as playing with them in different areas of the house. If you have more than one child, then, buy 2 sets. They are usually only $1.00 for each set. These children still find these magnetic dress-up dolls fascinating. These types of dolls come with purses, boots, sunglasses, and many more items, that will entertain their curious minds on more than one occasion.

Play-doe, plastic cookware, cutting boards and scissors

Play-doe adventures

Children can build their imaginations as high as their imaginations lead them. They can pretend cook, set the table, eat, and clean up with these great favorite toy for children from all over the world.

Sierra and Rylei make play-doe rings and necklaces as well as pancakes and other pretend food items of choice. Once Rylei put a square play-doe patch on my leg, and said it was a bandage, and not to touch it. She will be three soon, and just look how her imagination keeps growing and growing.

Adults should watch children more carefully. This can help them come up with great ideas of there own. Stacy knows she needs to keep herself active in order to help her health condition stay stable. These are a few things that are helping her now.

Children and adults are no different. They both want to find things that entertain and keep them interested. Think of things you wouldn't mind making a career out of if you are an adult, and watch boredom stay where it belongs. Away!

Many adults like to take pictures. If they practice at taking pictures, they may become a photographer one day.

Many adults like to cook. If they keep themselves interested in this field, they may go to culinary school on day. Ideas that are filled with passion never tend to fade away. They burst into flames, and then watch star qualities from within fulfill their deepest passions.

Children also may enjoy taking pictures, and cooking. Encourage every adult or child you know that enjoys doing these things. It maybe other activities that tend to bring a smile to their faces. Open your eyes, help build their creativity skills, and maybe one day you'll be a guest in their diner, or sitting down smiling for a photo shoot they have scheduled you for.

I like your approach to this condition in children. It's less of a disease than a lack of attention to their needs. A little time and ingenuity on the caregiver's part--parents too--wipes out this condition better than anything else.

The magnetic dress up dolls sounds a lot like Colorforms that we use to have as a kid. I would spend hours playing with these.
