Hypertension and Pregnancy

Hypertension is a relatively common disorder in pregnancy. As hypertension during pregnancy defined as a systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and / or diastolic above 90 mmHg.

The normal level of blood pressure above which the drugs are required 150 / 95 mmHg.Treatment of pregnant women can not be done with the available drugs, because some are potentially harmful to the fetus. Moreover, it is recommended in women with hypertension who wish to become pregnant to consult their physician.
After delivery the mother showed that hypertension can breastfeed the infant. However, since most of antihypertensives are excreted in milk in some concentrations, if hypertension is mild, the action stopped and the mother is monitored.
