The new variant will be available at the cost of Rs 5,33,900, which is a difference of Rs 34,900 against the petrol version. The Accent LPG kit comes with a warranty of two years.
Speaking to press people, the managing director Mr. H S Lheem said "the Accent has been a strong product in its segment. We are committed to launch eco-friendly cars and in this evdeavour we had launched the CNG kit version in 2008. The LPG version will be cheaper to maintain even as it has zero pollution levels. We have ensured that the Accent LPG meets all the safety standards. The product is designed to satisfy the safety and reliability of our products." In order to ensure high levels of safety, Hyundai Motors ensures that the car goes through the LPG leakage detection test thrice before it is delivered. A special filler cap has been fitted inside the LPG lining to prevent wear and tear of the parts.
The new Accent will be powered by the 1.5 litre engine. The spirited powertrain is matched by a 5-speed manual transmission. Separate petrol (45 litres) and LPG (27.2 litre) fuel tanks have been provided to help customers select either mode of fuel for transportation. In addition to it the LPG tank has a special 'Toroidal' design which allows a larger space for luggage room. Hyundai clams that the Accent Eco also boasts of the lowest greenhouse gas emission as it has lower carbon-di-oxide emission compared to the petrol variant. The car has been equipped with an engine immobilizer as a standard fitment for enhanced security.
