Hyundai i20 Diesel Version Launched

Hyundai has launched the much awaited diesel version of i20 on Tuesday. This is the first new car launch by the Korean car manufacturer in this year. The new Hyundai i20 diesel will be available in three variants- Magna, Asta and Asta (O). The new Hyundai i20 will be equipped with a 1.4L CRDI engine which delivers 89 bhp of power and a peak torque of 220 Nm. The new diesel version will be available with either manual or automatic transmission.

Talking about the launch of the i20 diesel, the managing director of Hyundai Motor India Mr. H S Lheem said "the launch of i20 diesel is a proud moments for us especially after the success of i20 in India. The i20 will be available with automatic transmission-the first in the premium hatchback segment." Mr. Lheem claimed that diesel variants offered healthy fuel economy and a best in class performance.

So far Hyundai i20 was available with 1.4L Gamma petrol engine with VTVT technology paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox.

The Hyundai i20 diesel and petrol are available in three variants each. However, the base Magna too comes with interestingly features like power windows, tilt/telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and air conditioning/heating facility. The top end Asta Option comes with a sunroof. The automatic transmission is available only on Asta and Asta Option. The top end Asta Option adds more features like six airbags, and alloy wheels. Hyundai i20 is available in six exciting colours.
