I Am a Hippie, No Doubt About It!

A Poem About My "Hippieness"

Carmella Mae Dunkin

I'm a hippie, there's no doubt,

I'm a hippie, inside and out,

I'm a hippie, yeah, yeah,

It's easy to be a hippie ya know,

just wear a long skirt that reaches the floor,

flowers in my long hair,

and an herb garden near my door.

I Protest all chemicals from entering my body,

and speak out about everything that bothers me badly.

Peace, love and not war, is the motto of a hippie,

Oh how I wish we could go back to the 60's

I am a hippie there is no doubt,

bare foot and pregnant is what I was about,

8 awesome kids, now I do have,

and their friends all called us, "hippie mom and dad"!

I am a hippie, there's no doubt about that,

I'll never loose my "hippiness", cause my oldest son loves that.

I love God with all I am, and He loves me, His little hippie!

-Carmella Mae Dunkin 2008-

I really am a hippie by all standards. I love to wear long skirts, and hair down to hips. I believe that we should avoid ALL chemicals, I despise the war, even though I know we have no choice at this point, we made our beds, now we must lie in them. I feel we should love everyone, the world is so full of hate, yes it is hard to do, but doesn't God love all of us? This we must do for Him. My son told me a year ago as our family left the Midwest headed for the "Hippie" Southwest, "Mom, don't ever loose your hippieness", I asked what he meant by that, after all, he is now 27, and I 45, he said, "you have always lived the way God wants for us all to live, that is what I am talking about, so don't ever loose your hippieness, because I have always admired that about you"! My boy put tears in my eyes with those words, and I will remember them always. So, I really am a hippie, and this poem is about my "Hippieness"

God Bless Ya'll! -Carmella Mae-

Haha - I can't say I am a hippie, but I love and only wear long skirts and I have hair down to by bottom that is always uncut. This is what I do because He showed me.
