I am Just a Little Boy

A Poem Dedicated to All of the Little Angels in Our Lives

RANDY DEABAY
I am just a little boy

My mind, yours to mold

My heart, yours to hold

Life that I need to be showed

I am just a little boy

With 10 little fingers

And ten wiggly toes

I need you when I smile

When I'm sad, hugs for a while

I need you when I'm sick

Or when I learn a new trick

I am just a little boy

I will keep you awake

Often I make mistakes

Many times I want hugs

And many nights to snuggle

Help me with my new shoes

Hold me when I am blue

Cheer me through all my struggles

I am just a little boy

Look at all my new toys

Dirty knees and dirty hands

See how tall I get

When I do hand stands.

Some nights, no sleep

Others not even a peep

I will cry, not know why

I am just a little boy

Look, I can tie my own shoes

See my little smiles

Hear all of my giggles

Soon I will be too big

The time will have gone

Memories just a song

Friends and fast cars

That is what I will really dig

But right now

I am just a little boy
