I Am Lucky.

No, Make that Blessed!

Julie Michael
My life has taken many twists and turns, especially in the last ten years. I am lucky to be alive, lucky to have most of my health, lucky to have my sanity. No, that's not quite correct. I'm not simply "lucky," I am blessed beyond anything I ever imagined. I have a wonderful life, albeit a bit stressful at times.

My husband is my best friend, my soul mate. He saved my life when we met 5 years ago, and in a way, he still saves me each day. It is absolutely wonderful to know that the person you're with loves you unconditionally and is never going to leave you or intentionally hurt you.

He is my rock, my anchor- the love of my life. I'm so thankful to have met him when I did, and that we've made it through the hard times and come out stronger for it. I'm thankful to have true love, my best friend, and the love of my life all in one. My husband is absolutely amazing! I am so thankful for him and our love.

My beautiful children- I'm thankful each day, for the joy they bring to my life. They are all absolutely beautiful, and special in their own unique ways. My children are absolutely precious to me, their love and the things they do are absolutely amazing.

Through my children's eyes I see a different way of looking at the world, and I thank them- and God- each day that they help me to remember to laugh and smile, and to see things differently. Through the eyes of a child, we can all learn to see the beauty and innocence in life. It's a blessing to be able to see the world that way once in awhile.

We all have a purpose in life, and we all know that there is pain and suffering in life- but what we often forget, is to be thankful for what we do have. It may be health, it may be love, family, friends, a job, etc. Whatever you have to be thankful for- be thankful and count your blessings.

From one moment to the next, nothing in this life is ever certain- this I've had to learn the hard way. It's important to take each person in your life, each experience, and find the good and be thankful for it. For me, I'm learning to stop getting "worked up" over small stuff- I'm learning to develop an attitude of thankfulness.

I'm thankful for the chance to learn to be thankful for each day, each moment- that comes my way.

I have 7 beautiful children and I love to write. Beyond that, I love my family, am loyal to my friends, and love to spend time with the people who matter most to me.  View profile

  • Find something in each moment to be thankful for.
  • Luck? Or Blessed? You decide.
  • Look at life in a different way to remember your blessings.

Good dtuff. You're right, we should all be thankful for the good things in our lives. It is all too easy to let the bad drag us down. Thanks :)
