I AM MAD Advertisements in Middle of My Articles Make it Appear I Support that Which is Being Advertised

Hannah
I am a retired counselor as well as a Christian, and I am far from happy about some of the advertisements that are in the middle of my articles.

When the advertisements use to be off to the side, it was made clear we had nothing to do with those adds. Now that the advertisements are in the middle of the article it appears to be part of the article. Worse yet, it makes it appear we support whatever is being advertised.

I can't believe I'm the only one that is upset about this. For instance my article "Single Women Who Sleep With Married Men", in NO way supports single women doing this, or for that matter, the husband who does it. So, what advertisement is in the middle of my article? The advertisement says, Life is Too Short, Have An Affair". Well, isn't that just great. I'm writing articles to maybe contribute to society in a positive way, and hopefully make others aware of the damage done to others by their choice of behaviors, and along comes AC and puts and advertisement in the middle of my article making it look like I support people who have affairs. Give me a break!

It will be interesting to see if AC finds a reason to remove this article, or me. I use to think they respected the writers on AC. Now I question where their loyalty is? It seems like it's the almighty buck. Also, I thought of AC as a respectful media website, now I am not sure.

What an insult to take an article which trys to promote good, and turn into an opportunity to sell more crap that we don't need more of. And please, save your comments on freedom of speech and the such. Why? Because as it is said, freedom is not free. Along with freedom comes responsibility, respect, and common sense. Without these strings if you will, comes a free for all society that creates chaos. I served in the military during the Vietnam Era, it was my way of saying I am willing to stand up and give something back for my freedoms. Too many people scream freedom of this and that and have NEVER done anything to earn the right. Yes, whether you like it or not our freedoms are NOT FREE!

So, how does this all tie into what I'm talking about? Well, AC does have an obligation to have some respect for their writers who are the ones that make them the money in the first place. They have some responsibility to what is being perpetuated and where they place their advertisements. If AC believes in what's being advertised that is their choice, but don't do it in a way that makes it look like the writer agrees as well. Let AC also have some common sense. If you lose good writers, and the professionals in many different professions that write on AC, then how are you going to sell advertising?

Last but not least, please don't leave comments that state just because there is an advertisement in the middle of a person's article it does not matter, and that people are smarter than that. Guess what? When there is a picture injected into an article the mind takes it in as one whole entity no matter how smart you are. It's what are brains do, so, let's not pretend it does not matter! AC I am truly disappointed in you. I know, I'm just one person, and you really don't care anyway! I can't wait to see what they put in the middle of this article, a porn site perhaps?

**Disclaimer: Please know that advertisements placed on my articles are exclusively the choice of AC and I may NOT support that which the advertisement is promoting and or selling!

I only mind the ads that show up in the middle of an article, they should be off to the side or something of the sort.

Yes, we feel your pain. Especially in the middle of lines of poetry!

I don't mind ads, but like you stated, inappropriate ones are negative to the article. I doubt that AC will kick you off. Money is money regardless of your beliefs.

Just to let everyone know, I am concerned I will be removed from AC for some trumped up reason for writing this article. If you see no more articles by me, I guess you will know why!

Thanks everyone! I have a feeling this type of stuff will be popping up all over now. I'm losing my enthusiasm for writing on AC. I wonder if there's a Christian site to write on? I'm going to check it out. If I find something I'll let everyone know! Why is it more and more businesses are giving into the sleazy side of things instead of supporting that which is educational, and family oriented. We who want the more wholesome side of life always seem to be left out. Good News is we're growing, and someday it may be different, again!

yeah, the ad on your article now is a for a website for married people to hook up for affairs. Ugh, sleaze

Since I've been gone for awhile, I haven't run into this problem yet but I wouldn't like that one on any of my articles. I find it in completely bad taste for an advertisement at all; much less on one of your pieces. I'm with you Hannah. This could turn out to be a huge problem.
