I Am the Mirror

Jaime Lanae
I am the mirror
To which the hall table says, "You are me!
You are hard, and sturdy, and always are stable!"
To which the loveseat says, "No, you are me!
You are cozy and warm, so unlike the table!"
To which the TV says, "No, you are me!
All these blind things, know you? I only am able!
You flash pictures of life on your face,
And yet no one is you, each is only a part."
And he is closest to finding my place,
Though he is oceans from finding my heart.
I am the mirror.
