I Am Not a "Liberal," "Conservative," "Republican," Or "Democrat"

I Am a Human Being Capable of Seeing Reason--No Matter Who States It

Megan Myers
Is it the media, or society itself, that attempt to categorize and classify people? Human beings are not that simple. They are complex.

People are capable of objectively looking at information and deciding whether it has merit--no matter if the information comes from those labeling themselves as Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, Atheists, Communists, Muslims, whatever.

Reason can be found in information from people of different values than one's self--that does not mean that one accepts every thing that particular person or group espouses .

It seems that often if one states a fact that is different from someone's preconceived ideas, then the hearer/reader immediately judges that person and classifies them. For instance, in forums, I have often seen anyone who gives a reasonable opinion that differs from the propaganda that certain readers adhere to insulted as libertards, or nazis,

If I write an article and use a certain person, organization, or group as a source , that does not mean I accept as factual everything that person, organization or group states, nor adhere to their beliefs.

That does not make me a Republican, a Democrat, a Liberal, a Conservative, a Communist, or a Muslim.

I have my own set of values and principles and those are fixed.

Just wanted to set the record straight.

I am a human being.
