I Am a Retard

I am a retard

This morning I woke up with a new revelation. I am a retard. For months now I have followed the writings of several writers on Associated Content and attempted to understand what they meant and why they felt the way that they did.

I have watched as people that disagreed with them would post comments only to be attacked and degraded. I have read and reread their articles trying to understand how they can be so bitter and nasty about those that disagree with them. I am a retard, because I just don't get it.

Someone needs to explain to me why my religious beliefs offend them the way they do. I haven't asked them to go to church with me, to pray for anything, or to even attempt to understand what I believe. I don't have a clue why they believe that "all Christians" can be lumped into one homogenous group. I wonder if these are the same people that believe that all blacks look alike or all Mexicans in this country are illegal aliens. I don't believe that there is such a thing as selective intolerance. I believe that those that would criticize others for their private beliefs would not hesitate to criticize others for their race, age, or gender if it served their purposes.

Why is corporate America the devil in their eyes? Why don't they realize that without them millions would be without means of support? These companies provide something that people want or they could not stay in business. They sell products or services for monetary gain, but along the way they provide a comfortable living for millions. They provide medicines, and food and clothing, all things that we clearly need, and yet, in the eyes of some, they are criminals.

If you were sick, would it really matter to you what the medicine would cost that made you better? They talk about the obscene profits that pharmaceutical companies make, but I wonder what they would do if the pharmaceutical companies quit producing the new medications because they couldn't afford the research and development. I wonder what they would say if the pharmaceutical companies said "We have enough money now, and we're going home"? I guess that would be a criminal act too.

I am a conservative. I believe that every man has something of value to offer and that he should be free to offer it without constraint. I believe that charity is a good thing as long as it isn't done at the point of a gun or under duress. I can't understand why anyone would think that they should be able to cause me to pay for the benefits that they want. What possesses people to believe that they have the right to the fruits of someone else's labor? Isn't that what slavery is?

I worry about those that feel that it is their right to dictate the values, morals and political beliefs of others. I am concerned about those that rail about the news agencies that offer different opinions than theirs, and am terrified that their type of perfect government would impose censorship on those that disagree with them.

Maybe someone out there understands all of this. I don't hate these people, I just don't understand them. Hopefully one day they will begin to offer solutions instead of insult and conjecture. Maybe they'll realize that rhetoric never healed an Aids patient or fed a hungry child. We can't fight or insult the world into perfection, we can only work together to make it better.

I know it isn't my job to protect anyone's feelings.. but I do feel like there are times that someone has been attacked unfairly and in those instances I am compelled to call out the person that does it. As you know there are many here that feel the need to insult others because they believe in their misguided minds that they can "marginalize" them by these methods. The saddest thing about it is that they don't realize that they can't force their opinions on anyone, they can only paint a very clear picture of who they are, and it isn't pretty.

Thanks Monique. I appreciate your comment. The point that I was trying to make is that I really don;t understand why there are so many people that blame their circumstances on others. I fail to understand why so many feel the need to insult and personally attack those that differ in opinion from them. I believe that it weakens their arguments and make them look like fools and bullies. This is a big country and there is room for all of us. I may not agree with what you believe, but it is not my right to condemn you for your beliefs. I am apalled at those that practice such buffoonery as to condemn entire regions as being clueless, or to attack those that have differing political beliefs than they do.

The largest problem I see with PC behavior is the simple fact it reduces one's freedom of speech. If you want to use the term retarded, that is your right. You see, I believe in the value of a person using language they are comfortable with. And I believe while other's may not agree with your choice of terms, that is their problem. Which leaves us in the most interesting position of someone being offended. Well, it's not my job (nor yours Anne) to protect anyone else's feelings. In your article you mention dictating morals...no one has the right to dictate morality to another human being.

Oh, and Anne: it's okay. You have every justification to hate those people. They plead for it.

You said it all, Jamie. And Jack. And Anne, of course. And Hannah. And...and....and...

Well, Anne, I think this was a great article and as usual the far lefties pick on terminology. They must have felt your facts creating great dissonance with their beliefs so their crazy heads snapped around and started calling you non-PC. I HAVE worked for several large corps. They are bureaucratic but they also work to retain their people, and I got great training that led me to start a successful business. I think it was a fair exchange of commodities. I rarely came across an evil or corrupt person trying to hurt anybody.

Guess what Anne, I'm just as retarded as you are! I don't understand either, and I have a masters in counseling! Please read my article I just published on "If You Worship Santa Instead of Christ, Then Don't Call It Christmas". I think you'll like it. Merry Christmas!!!

Great Article Anne!! Man that Jeff Musall is the poster child for the closed minded, mean spirited small minded rude liberal that out to tell the rest of us how we must live our lives.. to essentially allow them the Nanny State they so desire.. Thanks for using your great wit and writing to help expose them for the Stalinist they are.. Five Stars for you Anne!!!

Yep, you're right I did, I was saving you the trouble because I know that you have a very busy time insulting people. As a matter of fact, I wonder if you are capable of anything else.
