I Apologize to Everyone for President Obama and the Things He Has Said and Done

I want to apologize to all the citizens of the world that the United States of America elected Barack Obama as president of the United States in November of 2008. I want to apologize to the citizens of the United States that our President has seen fit to make apologies for things he has perceived to have been wrong in our country's past in and to numerous other countries--even though our country, despite whatever faults it has had is still the greatest country in the world. I want to apologize to the citizens of Arizona for our President's official for attacking your new immigration law and apologizing for it to the Communist Chinese, when you are only trying to defend your borders from illegal immigrants, some of whom may even be terrorists from other countries. I have heard in the news of those from other countries, including countries which have harbored terrorists, sneaking into Mexico and blending in with local citizens.

Now, I know the citizens of the United States chose Barack Obama as president, and so that was the will of a majority of the voters--at least in November of 2008--even though I did not vote for him, and considering the things he has done am proud to say I did not. (I can't help but wonder if the election might have been different, however, if someone better than John McCain had been the alternative.) I know these things are true, but I also know I have the right of free speech to criticize him.

I also believe that even though I always thought that Obama's ideas for fixing the economy were bad, that was why other people elected him. I do not believe, however, anybody voted for him with the idea in mind of his traveling the world and apologizing for the United States. How dare he, how dare he, how dare he! I can't remember any president from either party going around the world apologizing for the mistakes of those before him. That is beneath the dignity of the office of the President. He must be the most arrogant President in our country's history! If he wants to apologize for America, I will apologize for him!

The times President Obama has apologized for a perceived past mistake are no doubt too numerous to mention all of them. A British online website mentioned on April 3, 2009, how he had apologized for past American mistakes to France.

"Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive," President Obama reportedly said on the website,www.telegraph.co.uk, in one of the many times he apologized for mistakes he perceived in the Bush administration. In that case he was apologizing to France and the rest of Europe.

To his credit, President Obama did at least not leave all the blame for divisiveness at the feet of America.

"But in Europe, there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual, but can also be insidious," President Obama said in the same speech."Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what is bad."

President Obama also apologized for America at the Summit of the Americas at the Port of Spain, Trinidad, and Tobago on April 17, 2009.

"While the United States has done much to promote peace and prosperity in the hemisphere, we have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms," he said, as reported on heritage.org. "But I pledge to you that we seek an equal partnership."

Despite strong disagreements from some that the way America attempted to gather information from terror suspects was anything more than harsh interrogation, and many believed the interrogations saved multiple lives, President Obama called it "torture" and apologized to the world in Washington. Terrorists and tyrannical regimes in other countries know what true torture is--the actual physical infliction of pain. There actually have maybe been some in the military who did that on their own, but they have been prosecuted. What others have called torture that leaders advocated would not be called torture by those who know it best--the terrorists.

"Instead of strategically applying our power and our principles, too often we set those principles aside as luxuries that we could no longer afford, he said in the same article in heritage.org."And during this season of fear, too many of us--Democrats and Republicans, politicians, journalists, and citizens--fell silent.

"In other words, we went off course. And this is not my assessment alone. It was an assessment that was shared by the American people who nominated candidates for President from both major parties who, despite our many differences, called for a new approach--one that rejected torture and one that recognized the imperative of closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay."

He also apologized for alleged America torture when he was in Turkey and France.

On April 20, 2009, before CIA employees, the President apologized for alleged CIA mistakes: "So don't be discouraged by what's happened in the last few weeks. Don't be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we've made some mistakes."

I by no means would say America has always been perfect. We had slavery. Millions of people had to march for civil rights years later, even when there was no slavery. We had the Klu Klux Klan. We have had crooked leaders. All other countries have had these too, however, without having as many good things as America has, and we don't need a President going around the world criticizing us for our past failures.

There once was a recording by a Canadian, Gordon Sinclair, called the Americans, first broadcast on the radio on June 5, 1973. He expressed some of the good things about America that President Obama would do well to remember.

Sinclair recalled how it was America that helped control floods on the Nile, Amazon, Ganges, and Niger Rivers, while no one offered a hand to America when it has had great flooding. He recalled how America helped lift Japan, Germany (both enemies in World War II I might add), Britain, and Italy out of World War II. None ever repaid even the interest on its debts. America propped the Franc up in 1956 to keep it from collapsing. America has also helped numerous cities across the world that have been devastated by earthquakes or other disasters, with little help for the United States when it has had similar problems.

Just remember that President Obama!
