I HAVE to ASK YOU....

Kathryn Neff Perry
Living is Florida is a blessing. We have two summers and two springs. No snow, no shoveling snow, no ice to drive or walk on. Watching the weather channel the other night made me shiver. They were talking about snow in feet, not inches.

One of our friends who lives in Maine hires someone to shovel snow off the roof. It seems during the winter, the weight of all the snow could cause a problem.

I had to fly north a year ago during December, rent a car and drive on ice. I had only driven a few miles before I realized how truly blessed I am to live in Florida, especially in the winter.

I stood before my husband a few days ago, looked him in the eye and said, "Honey, I have to say something to you that I hoped I would never have to say."

Alarm crossed his face. "What is it?" He said with concern.

"Do we own an ice scraper?"

So you see, it does get cold here too. In fact, a few days ago, twenty-six degrees.

The sunshine and warmth are back, so I'm finally thawing.
